Biometric Chinese Visa – Fingerprints Requirement for China Visa Applicants

Have you heard of the new biometric visas that China introduced to their traveling regulations system?  From now on, in order to get your visa for China, you will be obligated to leave your fingerprints – when applying for a visa at the Embassy/Consulate.

Currently, this procedure is in act in France, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Soon it will be in act in Austria (9th Dec, 2019) and Germany (16th Dec, 2019).

According to the official note from the website of the Chinese Embassy Application Service Center, this won’t affect:

For Austria and Germany citizens:

  • Persons who are younger than 14 years or older than 70 years
  • Owners of diplomatic passports or persons excluded from the process of collecting fingerprints under any kind of bilateral agreement.
  • Persons whose fingerprints have already been registered within the last 5 years and are using the same passport they used back then to apply for a visa.
  • Persons who have finger limitations or who can not provide fingerprints from all 10 fingers for any physical reasons.

For French citizens:

  • Persons who are younger than 14 years or older than 70 years
  • Persons who have applied for a visa in the last 5 years and registered their fingerprints at the same Chinese Embassy or Consulate (or Visa Application Center) with the same passport
  • Persons who have finger limitations or who can not provide fingerprints from all 10 fingers for any physical reasons.

For UK citizens:

Persons who booked in advance the appropriate corresponding appointment (you will not be permitted to submit your application without the appropriate appointment type). For visa application, we recommend you make an appointment online at least 20 days before your departure date.

For Sweden citizens:

  • Persons who are younger than 14 years or older than 70 years
  • Persons who are planning on applying for a Chinese visa again within the next 5 years won’t have to collect their fingerprints again (but they must use the same passport).

What’s important to know about the China Visa Fingerprints Requirement?

China visa fingertips

All people who are applying for a Chinese visa will be obligated to personally come to Visa Application Service Center with the necessary visa documentation, to provide their fingerprints. Before coming to the VASC all the applicants must have a printed, pre-filled online visa application form and need to make an Embassy visa appointment in advance.

This means that from now on even more time will be necessary to spend when applying for your Chinese visa! The visa application form is twice as long as usual form and much more personal identification data is going to be required (such as how much is your salary, etc).

How Can Viselio Help You With This China Visa Fingerprinting Requirements?

Then you can go home, relax and wait for your passport with an approved visa that will be delivered at your doorstep.

2. Viselio “Book Appointment for You” – you apply for a Chinese visa using our online visa application form at https://www.viselio.com/; We do a full checkup of your submitted data and documentation and schedule a meeting for you at the Embassy/Consulate, but you attend the meeting at the Embassy on your own.

3. Viselio “Book Appointment Myself” – you use our simple online form at https://www.viselio.com/  to apply for your Chinese visa, but do all the rest of the requirements on your own.

All three options will be offered to you at the end of your visa application form and it’s up to you to make the choice you like the best.

Tips to follow when applying for a (biometric) Chinese Visa

Regardless of the fact if you choose to use any of Viselio visa services offered above, we strongly advise to pay attention to every detail when applying for a Chinese visa.

We especially advise you to pay attention when creating a photograph that is required!

It must be a color photograph measuring 3.5 x 4.5cm with a light background, with a clear full-face image, in which you are not wearing dark glasses or any headgear, except for religious reasons.

To double-proof your image efforts, we always say to every client of ours that it would be a smart thing to have one more printed copy of their uploaded photo close to their pocket 🙂

We also recommend you to do a checkup of the expiration date of your passport.

If by any chance your passport is valid for another year or two, it would be more convenient for you to get a new passport and then apply for a Chinese visa.

So what are you waiting for? Take advantage of all of this useful information and apply for a Chinese visa with Viselio today!
